El Cap Report 09/30/08

ElCap Report 9/30/08
By Tom Evans

Yo… short and sweet … I just went down in the morning and then went climbing in the afternoon.

Everyone is moving up well enough.

Zodiac: Two teams are on it now with one on the 4th when I arrived and one starting the 2nd pitch.

Kaos: Pete and Kate are moving up and I expect they will be on ZM by now.

Trip: The solo was climbing the 5th pitch when I left in the late morning. He looks good.

Mescalito: The lads moved off the top of the Bismarck and I expect they may be off late tomorrow or early the next day.

Reticent: Nicki spotted the solo, Davito, drilling on a pitch today and I took a shot of it. Why drilling? Who knows? Usually there is a good reason that we on the ground can only speculate about.

Yo… Kind of funky weather today. Cooler with lots of clouds, which was great for my shooting and for the climbers too. Lightning, and thunder booming up behind Half Dome and some sprinkles down in the Valley seemed to be about it. It threatened above the Cap but never materialized. Today’s report is brought to you by Hans and Yuji who entertained us today with a four hour tune up on the Nose this morning.
So here it is fresh off the computer just for you… Today’s ElCap Report…

Zodiac: You know those nicely dressed guys from yesterday that I was happy to see on the rock? Bailed.
I did see a team climb to the Top of the third and someone climb to the top of pitch two.

Yo… Wow! what a fine day here in the Valley of Adventure.  Lots of sun, breezes, and the company was the best!  The Cap saw some good action and sent a couple of the aspirants wheeling off the face.  More about that below.
Today’s report is brought to you by Mike Ousley who showed up late in the day with a fresh supply of cold ones to keep the party going… thanks Mike!!
So rack up the gear, check your knot, and tighten your shoes because you are going on climbs from Zodiac to the Salathe and will be right there when some of the gambles pay off and others go bad…
Here it is, just for you… right now… Today’s ElCap Report

Ok Kids.. Here we go! Beautiful here today, not so hot and cooler weather in the forecast. The old Captain was kicking butts and taking names today. The weeding out has begun on the Nose. More about that lower down in the report. So turn off the damn TV, tell everyone to put a lid on it, close and lock the door and come with me to the most sought after big wall climbing in the world. Today’s report is brought to you by several Tourons who parked their cars right in the road on the bridge and got out to take pictures today. Here it is…. Today’s ElCap Report, fresh from the face of the great rock itself…

Yo… Beautiful day here with some good breezes later in the day. The Face Lift got into full swing today and we had some good entertainment at the auditorium tonight. The great rock was not so hectic today so we kicked it back at the Bridge. Today’s report is brought to you by Chris Mac himself who showed up with nothing in particular to do and was somewhat conned into buying a couple rounds of Cobras for the usual suspects infesting the area. Thanks Chris… good fun today!
So kiss the little lady good night, put out the dog, lock the doors and settle in at the computer because here it comes direct to you… Today’s ElCap Report!!
